Ol Istria leccino is a clear green oil, with a strong olive and freshly cut grass scent, harmonious in taste, with a pronounced bitterness and piquancy. This oil is indispensable in preparing meat and vegetable dishes.
Ol Istria oils have a half a century long reputation. On 220 hectares of olive groves in five locations, they collect olives from over 40 year old trees in the largest olive grove in Croatia, reaching as far as the beaches. Olive groves located right by the sea and nourished by the Istrian sun, absorb all the riches from the North Istrian soil. Today they harvest an average of 1000 tons from 65 000 trees on the 220 hectares of olive groves located in Lanterna, Červar, Larun, Veli Maj and Zelena Laguna. The varieties that make the Ol Istria extra virgin olive oil are leccino, istarska bjelica, ascolana, pendolino, picholine, and the oil refinery produces olive oil from mixed varieties.
