It is prepared from thinly rolled dough wrapped in the shape of a bow or (istrian ''fjok''), so in some parts of Istria it is known as "fjoketi". Finally, sprinkle it with powdered sugar and enjoy!
ISTRIAN KROŠTULE
Traditional Istrian pastry made of fried dough.
Ingredients: WHEAT flour type 550, EGG, sunflower oil, butter (contains MILK), sugar, white wine (contains SULFITE), strong alcoholic beverage 37,5% vol. alk. (demineralized water, refined ethyl alcohol, sugar, flavoring, coloring: caramel plain), vanilla sugar (sugar, flavoring: vanillin), vanilla sugar (sugar, flavoring: vanillin), bourbon vanilla flavored sugar [sugar, natural vanilla flavorings with other natural flavors (contains MILK), ground vanilla pod), baking powder [loosening agents (disodium diphosphate, sodium hydrogen carbonate), corn starch], salt. May contain traces of other CEREALS containing GLUTEN, PEANUTS, SOY, NUTS and SESAME.
